Building Preschool Children’s Language and Literacy One Storybook at a Time by Katherine A. Beauchat, Katrin L. Blamey, Sharon Walpole describes the professional development tool, Innovation Configuration (IC), they developed. The IC allows teachers to identify essential literacy and language components appropriate for a specific book, plan how to target these areas before, during, and after their shared reading, and then reflect on their practice.
